Lot 5 is part of an 8 lot subdivision. This house was designed to capitalize on the position of Lot 5 within the subdivision which is located at the terminus of the street. Due to its prominence in the plan, the Arts and Crafts style was chosen to reflect the beauty and proportion of some of Southern Californias most notable Arts and Crafts houses found in Pasadena, California.
